Application Deadline-27 Jan 2025 – 13:00 (UTC)
Description
The researcher will be involved in the data analysis, focusing on the new data set that the ALICE experiment at the LHC is collecting during the current data taking campaign. In particular, the topological reconstruction of weak decays for strange and multi-strange hadrons will be addressed, aiming at determining particle abundances (and their connection to (mini)jets production), which constitute a key observable in the study of the deconfined medium produced in heavy ion collisions. The researcher is expected to deliver the most precise measurement so-far, thus contributing to the discrimination between phenomenological models which implement collective or in-vacuum hadronization mechanisms.
