Postdoc-Development of immunomodulating formulations for systemic administration, International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), Braga-Portugal

Description

The Bañobre Research Group focuses on the development of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches towards an early and unequivocal diagnosis and treatment of cancer, inflammatory and neurological diseases. We are looking for a qualified Postdoc Researcher to join our team in the Development of immunomodulating formulations for systemic administration project of the CInTech Agenda, under the PRR framework.

Tasks
  • Synthesis of nanoparticles and nanocomposites;
  • Nanostructure functionalisation;
  • Perform technical physico-chemical analysis and characterisation of developed products;
  • Perform advanced functional magnetic characterisation of developed products;
  • Regular progress report writing and presentations;
  • Attend consortium meetings.

Education

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Nanomedicine, or equivalent.

Experience and Technical Skills

  • 3+ years of post-doc experience in the area;
  • Experience in nanotechnology/nanomedicine research;
  • Hands on experience on the synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials and nanocomposites (e.g., lipid-based, polymer-based, magnetic, silica, QDs, UCNPs, CD);
  • Experience with drug delivery systems (i.e., small molecules, proteins, genetic material);
  • Experience on the functionalisation of nanostructures (e.g., proteins, peptides, genetic material);
  • Experience with advanced physicochemical characterisation technologies (i.e., TEM, SEM, ICP, TGA, HPLC, VSM, SQUID).

Other Preferred Qualifications 

  • Hands on experience with cell culture, 2D/3D in vitro models and in vitro characterisation assays;
  • Experience in in vitro characterisation techniques (e.g., FACS, CONFOCAL, FL microscopy);
  • Experience with hydrogels and/or scaffolds;
  • Hands on experience with MRI and magnetic hyperthermia;
  • Experience with organic chemistry synthesis and characterisation techniques;
  • Previous participation in collaborative national, international and/or industrial research projects.
