Postdoctoral Researcher with material science background to join our Advanced Materials for Nuclear Energy team for a fixed-term two-year contract
Responsibilities
- Materials characterisation especially with advanced TEM and SEM techniques.
- Conducting research related to degradation and corrosion of emerging structural materials.
- Disseminate research results in top-level journals and international conferences.
- Reporting the results to international stakeholders and engaging with the scientific and industrial communities.
Who we are looking for:
- You have recently (max 5 years ago) gained your doctoral degree in materials science, nuclear engineering, or a closely related field.
- You have experience in an academic research environment with a focus on materials degradation, corrosion, and cracking.
- You have hands-on experience in advanced characterizations, for example, TEM, FIB, and 3D EBSD.
- You have a good publication profile (in top-level journals).
- You have experience in corrosion testing, mechanical testing, and chemical analysis of structural metallic materials.
- Experience with additive manufacturing materials would be a plus.
- You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
